Meyrick Lodge is delighted to share the news of a truly memorable evening, as our Brother Paul Hopkins was installed as our new Worshipful Master. The night was filled with friendship, tradition, music, and a genuine sense of celebration—everything that makes our lodge such a special place to be.
A Superb Installation Ceremony
The installation itself was conducted in exemplary fashion by WBro Steve Dossett, who handed over the gavel to his successor with precision and heartfelt words. His dedication throughout the past year has been outstanding, and the ceremony reflected both his commitment and the respect in which he is held.
We were especially pleased to welcome APGM Chris Lockwood, whose presence made the evening even more significant. Having distinguished guests join us always adds an extra sense of occasion, and we thank him sincerely for attending.

A Festive Board to Remember
The celebrations continued at the festive board, where one of the highlights was WBro Brian Dobson singing the traditional Master’s Song. Delivered with warmth and pride, it was a touching moment for all in attendance. Brian also presented Paul with a beautifully crafted gavel—modelled on the very one used by Admiral Lord Nelson. A symbolic and inspiring gift for the year ahead.
We were also delighted to welcome visitors from our Mother and Sister Lodges. Their ongoing support and friendship are greatly appreciated, and it was a pleasure to share the evening with them.
A Year of Charity Ahead
Looking forward, Paul has chosen to support Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses during his year as Worshipful Master. This cause holds deep meaning for many families within our community, and we are proud to stand behind him as he raises funds and awareness for such an important area of care. We’re excited about the events and opportunities ahead that will help make a real difference.
Congratulations, Paul
On behalf of all at Meyrick Lodge, we offer our warmest congratulations to Worshipful Master Paul Hopkins. We wish him every success for the year to come and look forward to supporting him as we build on our lodge’s strong traditions of charity, fellowship, and community spirit.
