Meyrick Lodge

On Saturday 10th May, Meyrick Lodge gathered for an unforgettable evening of music, dancing, and fundraising at New Milton Rugby Club—all in support of our Worshipful Master Steve Dossett’s chosen charity of the year, Elsie’s Rose, who provide compassionate support to bereaved parents and families.

The event?
A Charity Ceilidh—a lively barn dance with a Gaelic twist—and it was every bit as fun as it sounds!

Music, Dancing, and a Touch of Mischief

We were delighted to be joined by the brilliant Murphy’s Lore, whose energy, musicianship, and good humour kept the dance floor buzzing all night long. Whether you were an expert at stripping the willow or simply willing to give it a go, their music made it impossible not to join in.

The evening’s theme—“Hoedown & Dirty”—gave everyone a perfect excuse to dust off their boots, channel their inner cowboy or ceilidh‑caller, and enjoy the night in style.

A Feast to Keep Us Moving

To keep spirits high, guests enjoyed a hearty Chilli & Cheese feast, which went down a treat after all the twirling, spinning, and laughing. It added just the right amount of comfort (and fuel!) to keep the dancing going well into the evening.

Raising Funds for Elsie’s Rose

Most importantly, thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone who came along, we raised an incredible £1,043 for Elsie’s Rose. Their work supporting families facing unimaginable loss is truly vital, and we are proud to help them continue making a meaningful difference.

Thank You

A huge thank‑you to:

  • Everyone who attended and danced their hearts out
  • Murphy’s Lore for the fantastic music
  • New Milton Rugby Club for hosting us
  • All who donated, supported, and helped organise the event

And of course, to Worshipful Master Steve Dossett for choosing such a worthy cause and leading a brilliant evening of fellowship, fun, and charity.
