Last night Meyrick Lodge were delighted raise Bro Tony Wilkinson to the sublime degree of a Master Mason. This significant milestone in Tony’s Masonic journey, in an evening that showcased not only heartfelt ritual, but also the very best spirit of teamwork, dedication, and brotherly support.
A Ceremony Brought Together Through True Masonic Spirit
What made the evening particularly special was the way several Brethren stepped forward at the last minute to ensure the ceremony could proceed with the dignity and excellence it deserved.
With our Worshipful Master taken ill and unable to attend, WBro Tony Drake graciously stepped in as Acting Worshipful Master, conducting the ceremony with calm leadership and heartfelt sincerity.
We also thank WBro David Barker, who stepped in as Junior Warden, helping maintain the smooth delivery of the ritual and supporting the floor work throughout the evening.
A further highlight was the excellent delivery of the Third Degree Working Tools by Bro James Marley, who prepared and performed his role with clarity and confidence.
And we are proud to celebrate Bro Chris Fay, who undertook his first ever Third Degree as Senior Deacon — and delivered superbly. His dedication and composure added greatly to the quality of the ceremony, and his performance was warmly praised by all in attendance.
A Special Evening for Tony
Bro Tony approached his ceremony with humility, enthusiasm, and genuine appreciation for the meaning of the degree. Seeing him take this important step was a moment of pride for the lodge, and a testament to his commitment to the Craft.
We look forward to supporting Tony as he continues his Masonic journey, now fully able to explore the deeper teachings and wider opportunities of the Third Degree.
Daffodil Night Festive Board
Following the ceremony, the Brethren and guests gathered for a superb festive board, held in honour of our traditional Daffodil Night. The atmosphere was one of warmth, celebration, and fellowship — a perfect way to mark such a special milestone in Tony’s life as a Freemason.
